Unsurprisingly, showering someone who is physically unable to stand or support themselves is extremely difficult. Thankfully, the Barella shower trolley is up to the challenge. With several varieties to choose from, the Barella makes showers simple for users from infancy to adulthood. Barella shower trolleys are a popular choice for users in leisure centres, care homes, hospitals and more. Ready to learn more?

What is the Barella Shower Trolley?
The Barella shower trolley is the perfect solution for patients with physical or cognitive disabilities that mean that they ideally need to remain horizontal when showering. Offering a number of crucial safety features, it’s suitable for even the most complex needs while also reducing carer burden.
More space means greater versatility
With four variations to choose from, there’s a Barella suitable for every need. However, unlike many competitor comparables, each Barella comes with more width guaranteed. A generous platform size provides the user with greater comfort, while carers can utilise the feature to help manoeuvre them or carry out changing routines.
- The Paediatric Barella is the smallest size, suitable from infancy right up to small adult. It is shorter and narrower than the adult version, with a safe working load capacity of up to 150kg.
- The Adult Barella is the standard option, but still has a wider platform than most competitor comparables. It has a safe working load capacity of 200kg.
- The Bariatric Barella has an enhanced weight capacity of up to 225kg, twin lifting actuators for additional stability and additional width for maximum usability.
- The Wide-Top Barella is a unique variation that combines the additional width of the bariatric style, with the weight capacity of the standard adult option, keeping costs down while offering maximum usability
From showering to bathing in moments
Each Barella has strong, solid stainless steel folding rails as standard, and these can be operated with just one hand. Higher than commonly found on other shower trolleys, they also enable the Barella to be used as a shallow bath if required – improving the bathing experience for the user. Additionally, the standard Barella tilt option and 150cm water drainage hose makes emptying simple.
Built for tough environments
Barella shower trolleys are built to last, from the highest quality waterproof electrics on the market to the unique anti-corrosion process that we use to treat every metal component – including both inside and outside of the frame. This minimises the risk of corrosion and helps to maximise the lifespan of the trolley. Meanwhile, having the option of single wheel or complete braking, and the ability to reduce the overall width by folding in the side rails means that the Barella can still be manoeuvred effortlessly through corridors and in and out of rooms.
When you choose the Barella shower trolley you’re choosing longevity, but all models come with a two year warranty if required.
