The tech mesh calf strap is used to prevent a user's legs from moving rearward on the footplates. The soft strap is tension adjustable using Velcro tabs on the rear. The strap is useful for users that have contraction spasms that cause their knees to flex. When using a tilt-in-space chair, gravity will cause the user’s legs to fall off the footplates and so the calf strap can be used to prevent this from happening.
