The Valencia Porter is portable even when it is occupied, and the four locking casters provide a stable base and confidence to the user when transferring in/out of the chair. It offers some adjustment to meet different sized users and has increased options for pressure care and postural management. The chair has several different functions including a powered tilt in space - a positioning feature which redistributes weight/pressure on the different parts of the body thus reducing the potential of pressure sores. Tilt in space also promotes the pelvis to be positioned at the rear of the seat preventing slipping or slumping in the chair which can have a detrimental effect on skin integrity. Equally as important good posture can increase the user's line of vision and ability to engage in meaningful activities.

Managing comfort and pressure care in seating is essential. The seat cushion can be changed for different pressure requirements starting with a medium risk visco-elastic cushion. This can be upgraded to a gel or even an alternating air cushion for users that are managing an existing pressure sore or at risk of further skin deterioration.

The adaptable cushions on the chair provide extremely high levels of comfort and are also designed to accommodate patients with spinal curvature or bring in support where there may be muscle weakness. These cushions can be moved or adapted at a later date to continue supporting a user whose needs may be changing on a daily/weekly basis.

The central section of the chair, or ‘contact area’, is upholstered in vapour permeable material which is water-resistant and makes cleaning and maintenance of the chair easy. This fabric is air-permeable, meaning that air can circulate through the fabric, keeping the skin fresh and moisture levels low, preventing skin damage.
