The Saros chair provides a comfortable chair on wheels that is adaptable for different patient sizes and users that require pressure relief or additional support to sit with a good posture.

The Saros has a number of different functions including tilt-in-space, a movement which redistributes pressure on the body thus reducing the likelihood of pressure sores, and helps to keep the user sitting with their pelvis at the back of the seat and preventing slipping or slump. There is also an optional adjustable leg rest to elevate the users' legs and an adjustable angled backrest to allow for different hip flexion positions.

When a user may be sitting for extended periods of time, keeping pressure sores at bay, or helping to heal an existing sore, is paramount for everyone involved. The seat cushion can be changed for different pressure requirements starting with a medium risk visco-elastic cushion, designed to prevent pressure sore occurrence. This can be upgraded to a gel seat or even an alternating air cushion depending on the patients’ level of risk.

The adaptable back cushions on the chair provide extremely high levels of comfort and are also designed to accommodate patients with spinal curvature or bring in support where there may be muscle weakness. These cushions can be moved or adapted at a later date to continue supporting a user whose needs may be changing on a daily/weekly basis.

Please note - the footrests shown in the images are optional accessories.

A friendly, professional demonstration of a fabulous product

Demonstration- Occupational Therapist, Durham

Thank you so very much.  It is great working with someone who gets the job done - and done well.

Barbara - Private client

Wealden ran a really useful training day for the Occupational Therapists in Kent which was very well balanced with theory and practical application of principles to consider when selecting suitable seating for those with special requirements.

Therapists were split into small groups allowing a very hands on opportunity to explore how to take accurate measurements, understand fully the full range of adjustments/ movements  available for the Saros chair.

The aim of the session was to build therapists confidence in  making their own prescriptions for the correct product (s), rather than having to rely on the presence of a rep at every visit.

Evaluation of the training day was very positive from the therapists.

Training feedback- Senior Occupational Therapist

The chairs are lovely and our residents are so comfy in them. It is much nicer now we can get even our frailest residents out of bed and comfy - well worth the money, thank you!

Meg Jones, Manager of Barchester Care Home

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances I was not able to attend the training days myself however I have had excellent feedback from the other members of the clinical team that were able to attend. They found the Postural Management section very informative and found the “hands on” afternoon session very beneficial. They felt that the balance between theory and practical was excellent and the handout was informative and well referenced. The feedback from the prescribers at the time was very positive.

I was sorry to have missed the training and if you should hold another session I would hope to be able to attend.

I find Wealden very helpful, I would always look at Wealden equipment prior to any other.
