£30 Million funding for Changing Places toilets now open for applications

Councils are urged to apply for a share of the fund, which will be used to install life-improving Changing Places toilets.

Only ten days after Changing Places Awareness Day, the £30 million fund we mentioned in our blog is now open for applications.

In our blog, we discussed the ‘Purple Pound’ and the impact a Changing Places Toilet can have on a business. Now the application for funding is open, councils are being urged to express their interest before the deadline of 26th September 2021.

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak MP said:

“Applications for this £30 million funding are now open, and I would encourage all local authorities to get involved, to make a real difference for families with disabled children.”

Those local authorities who sign up will be able to receive funding equivalent to the average cost of installing one Changing Places toilet.

For a share of this funding, councils will need to complete a short expression of interest form. They are urged to consider where Changing Places toilets are most needed in their communities, and to work in partnership with other organizations to deliver these facilities.

Funding will be distributed through local authorities

We recommend contacting your local authority to express your interest in working with them to build a Changing Places toilet in your facility.

From shopping centres to zoos, Wealden Rehab has delivered Changing Places in many industry sectors throughout the UK. You can count on us to guide you through the installation process and ensure your facilities are compliant with current regulations.
