The Porchester Centre in Bayswater, London, underwent significant investment during the end of 2020 with upgrades to changing areas.

Wealden Rehab were pleased to assist the main contractor is designing and delivering their new Changing Places facility.

The room is large and spacious, taking advantage of high level windows to bring in light from outside. Two adjacent rooms were combined into one to ensure they could provide the floor area that is required under BS8300.

First fix installation of hoist supports and placing of services was undertaken early in the project, and then our team returned in March 2021 to complete the installation before handover to the client.

With the subway-tile design, the room manages to present both a light and airy appeal whilst remembering its heritage.

The specification of the facility is designed to comply with the British Standard and Changing Places guidence, comprising a ceiling-mounted hoist system, a height-adjustable washbasin, a height-adjustable shower bench together with the full selection of accessories - folding privacy screen, thermostatic shower, large waste and clinical waste bins, coat hooks, a mirror and a hand dryer.

The completed project looks aboslutely fantastic, and the client is over the moon!
