Hospice gets 10 much-needed comfy chairs fast
Weldmar Hospicecare is well known in Dorset for its compassionate approach and excellent services. They wanted to offer family members and patients more comfort during overnight stays by having supportive seating available throughout the building. After searching without finding the right solution, they contacted us to learn more about the Valencia Porter comfy chair.
A comfy chair to meet a wide range of needs
The hospice needed chairs that would meet a wide range of requirements, offering comfort and support for people of different sizes and with different postural and medical considerations.
After learning about the Valencia Porter’s high level of comfort, portability and adjustability, as well as the stand-assist functionality, pressure relief and simple maintenance, they placed a large order of 10 chairs.
10 chairs delivered in 28 days
Within 28 days, all the chairs were ready for dispatch. Wealden Product Advisor Matthew Anderson assisted with the delivery, setting up the chairs and providing training. As a result, staff in this busy, multi-user environment were all comfortable making adjustments to ensure the chair meets individual patient needs.
With its Valencia Porters now in use, the hospice has been able to offer more comfort at critical times.
As the Special Occupation Therapist at Weldmar Hospicecare said,
‘We found the service that we received from Wealden and it’s representatives to be timely and professional. It was so useful to receive a demonstration of the Valencia Porter Seating System in order to inform our decision making process prior to placing the order. Also, staff were very grateful to receive a full demonstration of the use of the chairs on the day of provision. We are hopeful that the chairs will make a real difference to our patients and their carers’
